When you bring
the director.

Sometimes the creative is already settled. An agency has a director it wants. A brand has a DP it trusts. A production is travelling and needs solid ground under it when it lands. The film still has to be produced — scheduled, crewed, permitted, moved, fed and delivered — and that is a craft of its own.

We take that work on. Not as a vendor filling a purchase order, but with the same producers who carry our own films from treatment through to delivery.

You keep the creative. We make the days work: crew matched to the shoot rather than to the invoice, gear chosen for what's actually being filmed, and someone answering the phone who has solved the problem before. Salt Lake City and the terrain around it is home ground, and we travel.

Scope is set per project, and there is no rate card — a two-day interview shoot and a week in the backcountry are not the same job, and pricing them as if they were helps nobody. Tell us the dates, the scope and what the creative team already has locked, and we'll tell you straight what it takes to make it.

Vita Brevis Films has produced this way since 2008, on our own films and for other people's. Founder and director Skylar Nielsen produces about as often as he directs, so the instinct behind the schedule is a filmmaker's rather than a spreadsheet's.
